Infernal Flame is a Resource granted by the Ascendancy passive skill Pyromantic Pact on the Infernalist that replaces Mana. Unlike other Resources, Infernal Flame is gained when a Skill is used and starts at 0. It drains over time after not gaining Infernal Flame for a period of time, and reaching max Infernal Flame empties your Infernal Flame, but causes you to take fire damage based on your maximum life and energy shield.

Mechanics

When using a skill, you gain Infernal Flame equal to the mana cost of the skill.

Infernal flame can be lost in two ways:

  • lose 50% of your Infernal Flame per second if none was gained in the last 2 seconds.
  • If Infernal Flame reaches maximum, it is reset to 0, but you take Fire damage equal to your max life + max energy shield. This is reduced by Fire resistance and any other damage mitigation for fire hits.

Increases to maximum mana will increase your maximum Infernal flame, but no other mana based mechanics will affect it, including mana flasks, regeneration, or mana draining monsters. Maximum Infernal Flame cannot go below 1.

Low Infernal Flame

The player is considered to be on Low Infernal Flame if they are at 35% of Maximum Infernal Flame or lower.

High Infernal Flame

The player is considered to be on High Infernal Flame if they are at 65% of Maximum Infernal Flame or higher. Seething Body will give a buff when you are on High Infernal Flame.
