Resource
A Resource is a pool which is kept track of by the game and which can be gained, lost or spent in various ways. The most common resources which all characters have are Life and Mana. Resources do not count as items and cannot be put in inventory.
Resources may be gained through various recovery methods, which include regeneration, leech, recharge and recoup. There may also be specific ways to gain a resource such as through a pickup. Each resource a character has access to will have a current and maximum value. Usually you cannot increase the current value above maximum, but some mechanics map specify they can increase a resource above its maximum. This is called Overflow, and by default allows the resource to reach double its maximum value.
