Ezomyte runes are items that can be socketed into martial weapons and armour. Socketed runes add an enchantment to the item, granting generic stats. Once socketed, runes cannot be removed, though they can be replaced by another rune or soul core. Doing so will not return the original rune. Runes are mechanically similar to soul cores and talismans.

Most runes are part of the core drop pool. Certain runes are found exclusively in Phaaryl Megaliths.
