This subpage provides documentation for Template:Merge portions from.
This template displays a notice that the page or section it appears on is the subject of a split proposal.
Usage
This template should be placed at the top of a page or section when it is suggested that content from another page be split and merged into it. The other page should typically use {{split portions}}, but may use {{split}} if applicable.
The page this template appears on will automatically be added to Category:Proposed splits.
The names of up to ten other pages can be given using the first through the tenth unnamed parameters.

It is encouraged to be specific about which portions of the other page should be split. Use |portions=
to replace the words "portions of" with more specific language.

To indicate that a section should have portions of another page be split and merged into it, place this template at the top of the section and use |section=yes
.

A reason for the split proposal can be given using |reason=
. It is not required, but it can be used to provide context at a glance.

It is good practice specify the date of the split proposal using |date=
.

Use |talk=
to display a link to where the split proposal is discussed. To link to a section on the page's own talk page, use |talk=Section title
. To link to a section on another talk page, use |talk=Talk:Other page#Section title
.
