Threaded Light being a reference to Elden Ring is not confirmed. But considering the many connections between both the item art and description, and the relatively unique visual style and plot of Elden Ring it seems reasonable to conclude the item is an homage.

Note the item art on threaded light, a glowing golden braid of hair looping down from a spiral and forming a knot of three or four overlaying circular loops. The braids are overlaid over a tree.

https://eldenring.wiki.gg/wiki/Erdtree_Seal This is a holy seal in elden ring, note the overlaying rings and braid/spiral like patterns.

https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/file/Elden-Ring/marika-erdtreepainting.png This is a painting of Queen Marika and her Erdtree. The previous images are all variations of symbols and sigils of the Erdtree and its golden light magic.

https://eldenring.wiki.gg/wiki/Queen_Marika_the_Eternal#/media/File:Marika_Ascension.png This is Queen Marika ascending to godhood, she does this by grasping *threads of light* at the top of a spiral tower. This ascension to goodhood marked the beginning of a war that she intentionally hid so well it was forgotten.

https://eldenring.wiki.gg/wiki/Golden_Braid This is the golden braid of hair Marika gifted.

https://eldenring.wiki.gg/wiki/Realm_of_Shadow#/media/File:ER_SOTE_Trailer_ss_07.png This is the land of Shadow, it is called this because Queen Marika launched a crusade in this land and killed the entire civilisation of Hornsent people who lived there, then she cut the land off from the rest of the world so none could enter or know of it and hid the massacre from all of them. This war is often referred to as a war forgotten/unseen and unsung.

The reason for this war Queen marika never forgot though, and she continues to persecute descendants of the Hornsent people, now branded omens. The war and the continued hiding of it is also the source of a major part of her power in the new land she traveled to.

This is Enir Ilim, the place where Marika grasped the Threads of Light and started the war now forgotten. (Ignore the arrow in the third one) Note the abundant spiral and tree motifs.

Despite having no confirmation of the item being an homage, i think the symbols on the item art and especially the flavour text is extremely specific. What other character is there that cut of and gifted a braid of her golden hair, who also started a war and made sure it was forgotten by all except herself? And who is also associated with the imagery of 3 or 4 overlaying golden rings, golden light and trees?

EDIT: Now that i think more about it, both Path of Exile and Elden Ring also share a prominent and lore central usage of the phrase: The Original Sin. Both Queen Marika and Innocence rose to divinity at great cost or betrayal to another, and in both games this is called the Original Sin.
