Essences are a type of currency item. They are dropped by essence encounters. Essences will upgrade a normal item to a magic item, similar to an 
Orb of Transmutation, while guaranteeing the modifier added to be of a specific type. Essences come in tiers, signified by a prefix (Greater) or lack thereof.
