Wand is an item class of one-handed weapons that require dexterity and intelligence to equip. They have no local attack stats, and instead roll modifiers for spells. Traps also come with an inherent detonation type, which affects how a trap is activated.
Mechanics
It is not possible to dual wield two traps.
Traps are used to cause spells to be used by a proxy when detonated, using your offence stats but not counting as using the skill directly. Each trap uses the skill once before expiring. Traps do not use cast speed as the skill is used immediately when detonated. However, they are affected by the stat "throw speed", which determines how quickly a trap can be thrown to the targeted location when used by the player. Throw speed is affected by action speed modifiers.
Traps specify a detonation type, which determines how a trap is activated:
- Proximity: When an enemy enters the trigger radius of the trap, it will detonate automatically.
- Manual: The player must click the detonation hotkey, which will detonate all placed traps in sequential order.
The proximity and manual detonation types are similar to traps and mines function respectively in Path of Exile.
