This subpage provides documentation for Template:Merge to.

This template displays a notice that the page or section it appears on is the subject of a merge proposal.

Usage

This template should be placed at the top of a page or section when it is suggested that it be merged into at least one other page. The other pages should use {{merge from}}.

The page this template appears on will automatically be added to Category:Proposed merges.

The names of up to ten other pages can be given using the first through the tenth unnamed parameters. At least one other page must be specified, otherwise an error will be displayed.

{{Merge to|Other page 1|Other page 2|...}}

To indicate that a section should be merged into another page, place this template at the top of the section and use |section=yes.

{{Merge to|Other page|section=yes}}

A reason for the merge proposal can be given using |reason=. It is not required, but it can be used to provide context at a glance.

{{Merge to|Other page|reason=Subject covered elsewhere}}

It is good practice specify the date of the merge proposal using |date=.

{{Merge to|Other page|date=June 26, 2021}}

Use |talk= to display a link to where the merge proposal is discussed. To link to a section on the page's own talk page, use |talk=Section title. To link to a section on another talk page, use |talk=Talk:Other page#Section title.

{{Merge to|Other page|talk=Section title}}
