This is a guide on the subject of Map Cheat Sheet.

Last updated on December 11, 2024‎.

This guide is meant to give a general layout/type of each map along with notable mob types or encounters.

Abyss

  • Cave map type
  • Medium-width corridors that go in random directions
  • Spiders spawn from the sides of the map randomly

Augury

  • Indoor temple map with a locked inner sanctum
  • Must pull 3 levers to open the middle of the map to fight rare mobs
  • The 3 levers are in the middle of each side that you did not spawn on
  • You cannot cancel pulling the levers - make sure you kill all mobs around them first

Backwash

  • Forest map type
  • Islands connected with bridges
  • Lots of tree obstacles
  • Boss is Yaota, the Loathsome

Bloodwood

  • Forest map type
  • Fairly linear
  • Long winding corridor
  • Can easily miss rares if you don't check all sides as you go down the corridor

Blooming Field

  • Forest map type
  • Big square
  • Lots of roots and trees obstructing movement

Burial Bog

  • Swamp map type
  • Long winding map with large obstacles along the way
  • Similar to Strand in PoE 1

Crypt

  • Mausoleum map type
  • Long narrow corridors
  • Boss is the first floor sanctum boss from PoE 1

Decay

  • Swamp map type
  • Circular map with lots of obstacles

Forge

  • Long, straight hallways
  • Looks like crucible maps from PoE1
  • Boss is

Fortress

  • Circular map with big open areas
  • Boss is Pirasha, The Forgotten Prisoner, which is the map version of Balbala, the Traitor, but the arena is a lot larger

Hidden Grotto

  • Cave type map

Hive

  • Desert type map
  • Lots of rocks and jagged edges to get caught on or stuck

Lofty Summit

  • Winter type map
  • Fairly linear
  • Long corridors that are wide and narrow at parts

Mire

  • Swamp map type
  • Thin bridges connecting small islands

Oasis

  • Desert map type
  • Long linear corridor

Ravine

  • Castle map type
  • Long linear map with little to no obstacles

Sandspit

  • Beach map type
  • Long linear map just like strand in PoE 1

Savannah

  • Desert map type
  • Open layout with long brick walls throughout
  • Boss is the desert boss from act 2

Seepage

  • Indoor temple map with long corridors

Slick

  • Castle type map
  • Long, wide corridors
  • Is generally linear but has large tangents

Spider Woods

  • Forest type map
  • Linear-ish, but mostly wide open space

Steaming Springs

  • Beach map type
  • Open layout in a square with lots of obstacles
  • Boss is Manassa, The Serpent Queen

Steppe

  • Forest/plain map type
  • Open layout in a square

Sulphuric Caverns

  • Cave map type
  • Linear-ish map but you have to traverse the sides quite a bit
  • Boss is the dual boss with the beast and the mage

Vaal Factory

  • Temple map type
  • Square map with lots of rooms and doors
  • Can have little spiders in the ground that trigger when you walk over them and home in on you and explode
  • Boss is always top/left

Vaal Foundry

  • Layout is similar in every map - head top right
  • Boss is the same as the molten vault (lava boss)

Willow

  • Forest type map
  • Lots of tree obstacles

Woodland

  • Forest map type
  • Circular'ish map with lots of tree obstacles
