This subpage provides documentation for Template:Split.

This template displays a notice that the page or section it appears on is the subject of a split proposal.

Usage

This template should be placed at the top of a page or section when it is suggested that it should be split into one or more pages.

The page this template appears on will automatically be added to Category:Proposed splits.

The names of up to ten other pages can be given using the first through the tenth unnamed parameters.

To indicate that a section should be split into another page, place this template at the top of the section and use |section=yes.

A reason for the split proposal can be given using |reason=. It is not required, but it can be used to provide context at a glance.

It is good practice specify the date of the split proposal using |date=.

Use |talk= to display a link to where the split proposal is discussed. To link to a section on the page's own talk page, use |talk=Section title. To link to a section on another talk page, use |talk=Talk:Other page#Section title.
