This subpage provides documentation for Template:Merge.

This template displays a notice that the page or section it appears on is the subject of a merge proposal.

Usage

This template should be placed at the top of a page or section when it is suggested that it be merged with at least one other page. A destination for the merge is not specified when using this template. Use {{merge to}} instead to suggest a merge to a specific destination.

The page this template appears on will automatically be added to Category:Proposed merges.

Up to ten other pages to be merged can be given using the first through the tenth unnamed parameters. At least one other page must be specified, otherwise an error will be displayed.

A reason for the merge proposal can be given using |reason=. It is not required, but it can be used to provide context at a glance.

It is good practice specify the date of the merge proposal using |date=.

This template will show a link to the talk page. To link to a specific section of the talk page where the merge proposal is being discussed, use |talk=Section title. To link to a section on another talk page, use talk=Talk:Other page#Section title.
