This template uses the following modules:

This template creates a label used to provide attribution for an unsigned comment on a talk page.

Usage

Use this template immediately following an unsigned comment on a talk page. This template should always be substituted.

Talk page comments should always be timestamped in UTC. To use this template effectively, you will first want to ensure that timestamps in edit history appear in UTC. Check your user preferences to make sure that the setting for time zone is set to UTC, which is the wiki default.

If possible, find the revision in edit history that was responsible for the unsigned comment. If you previously ensured that timestamps in edit history appear in UTC, this will allow you to copy the timestamp and username from edit history and paste it directly into the first unnamed parameter of this template.

Alternatively, enter the editor's username as the first unnamed parameter. Enter the timestamp of the comment, if known, as the second unnamed parameter.

It is not necessary to enter "(UTC)" following the timestamp. The template will insert it automatically.

Copying the timestamp and username from edit history:
